Hi ,this is urgent My grand mother age=60 ,has pain on her upper left side of the abdomen for the past 3 days. She has continuous pain and its very severe. the pain increases on turning , breathing or lying on the left side. she is very fat. Medical history : High blood pressure , Filaria , ulcer Tablets taken - ziblok for BP , hetrozen for filaria , ranatidine and digene for ulcer problem.

Your mother will certainly require a one to one medical consultation. Get her to see a doctor. The causes of pain on the upper left side of the abdomen in your mother could be one of several.
She could be having a left sided pneumonia or chest infection, it could be a left kidney infection or kidney stone, it could be that her stomach ulcer is perforated and she is leaking acid into her abdomen.
There is no room to delay. Call a doctor now.
