ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm

I've hurt my back!

Mum was approaching 80, kept very well despite being a smoker all her life. Whilst awaiting to order a meal at a hotel, she decided she wasn't very hungry and perhaps had eaten too much during the day.
As the waiter came to take her order she decided she actually felt quite nauseous and would retire to her room.
On standing up from the sitting position, she experienced a sharp pain in her lower back but blamed sitting too long.

She retired to her room to lie down, decided her back was so painful she would just go to bed.
Through the night her cry for help was heard and she was found on the bathroom floor almost unconscious , lots of blood on the floor, which had escaped from wherever possible, and she died very soon afterwards . She had suffered a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm.
