right abdominal pain in the last 24 hours

by Nicole
(United States)

I started experiencing right abdominal pain in the last 24 hours. The pain is sharp, and I am unable to sleep or take deep breaths. I had my gallbladder taken out about 2 years ago, so I know that is not the cause.

I have had a hysterectomy about 4 yrs ago, so I know it is not caused by a period. The pain reminds me of the pain I experienced before my gallbladder surgery.

I have had bowel movements. My gallbladder surgery put me in the hospital for nearly a week, even though it was outpatient, and I ended up with 4 surgeries. From what I have read, I believe the doctor snipped my bile duct.

I am afraid that something is still wrong. This pain comes and gos. Do you happen to know what is causing this pain?
