Pressure in Lower Left Abdomen When Sitting

by Patricia
(Nashua, NH)

Hello.

I have been experiencing pressure in my lower left abdomen when I sit down...it only started today, but it has been every time I sit.
Six months ago I had an ectopic pregnancy in my right fallopian tube. It was severely damaged by the time I finally found out about it and went to surgery a day later that the dr had to remove it. So...since I only have one good fallopian tube I worry and am extra cautious when it comes to the lower abdomen.
I wonder if I could be experiencing the same fate...or if I am over exaggerating...or if it is just gas...or if I could be just plain pregnant in its early stages(I took a pregnancy test and it says Not Preg).
I guess we shall see what comes of it....

Dear Patricia,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your experince with pressure on your lower abdomen when sitting down.

I am indeed so sorry to know that you had ectopic pregnancy in the past. No, you cannot be over exaggerating anything, after your last experience.

I am pleased to know that your pregnancy test came back negative (the pregnancy test kits are reasonably sensitive and are right 95% of the time).

It would sincerely be difficult to be able to say exactly why you are experiencing pressure symptoms on your left lower abdomen on sitting down.

I do not really think it is due to another ectopic, though you have an increased risk once you already have one.

It could be due to constipation or cystitis or ovarian cyst or endometriosis. The best thing to do would be to see your doctor to have an examination done.

You may even require a scan as soon as possible.

Please keep us informed of the outcome of your experince.

Thank you again for using our forum and looking forward to hearing from you soon, while at the same time we sincerely wish you good health.
