pain in belly!!

My name is Jen and I've been having this pain at the top of my abdomen or stertum.

When I have the pain its a Sharp burning sensation. I get very nausea and if I don't lay down right away I throw up.

Some have told me to take prilosec otc and my mother in law said this is what happened when she had he4 gallbladder surgery.

I don't want to go the er if its just indigestion. Can you please help me? Would you happen to know whats going on? Thankx so much, jen
