Left side abdominal pain

by Hamid Ali
(lahore, Pakistan)

A patient has abdominal pain on the left side since a week but the pain gets severe last night after he has a meal of lentils, rice and pickles.

He is not vomiting and no problems in excretion or urinating, though his temperature has risen to 100 degree Fahrenheit.

He has no physical injury or cramps. There might be a little bit of constipation as the patient had an intake of a lot of fiber lately that the patient didn't tell us himself.

Can it be irritable bowels syndrome? or Peritonitis?
